Landing a Devfolio Internship

One of the biggest manifesting moments of my life. I'm writing this almost one month into the internship. I wanted to write this earlier, but it didn't feel real back then for some reason. Now it does, after settling in, working on tasks, getting to know the team, and just vibing in Bangalore.

This all started 6 months ago, at Warpspeed 2025. My first Devfolio hackathon. I had applied to previous Warpspeeds but never got selected, so this felt like real internal validation. I packed my bags, installed local LLMs,

note to self: don't demo local LLMs on battery,

and took a bus from Kolhapur to Bangalore. I was super excited. I landed at a cool venue with great facilities and vibes. Over there, I met Tushar, a former Devfolio employee. We talked about how he started at Devfolio as an intern.

So I just subtly asked him,

Man, that's really cool. How do I get one?

To my surprise, Denver (Devfolio's CEO) was also there. Tushar introduced me to Denver and casually mentioned that I was looking for a role. Denver told me to keep an eye on their platforms and socials, which is EXACTLY what I did.

Fast forward a few months, they announced BlockTrain, a super cool hackathon on a train. I applied and got selected. I met the Devfolio team again, talked about their tech, discussed their ethos, and why they do what they do.

A few more months go by, and they announce Tryouts, a hackathon/hiring competition. Of course, I applied and got selected. I traveled to Bangalore, met the team again, and solved the challenge. A few weeks later, they got back saying they liked my profile and wanted to do a pair-programming interview, a nice alternative to typical DSA interviews.

They were a bit worried that I was a Svelte purist 😆 (which tbh I am), but that doesn't mean I won't work with other technologies. After clearing that up, we did the pair-programming round. It went well, and after a final meeting with Denver, I received my offer letter a few days later. Overall, a really pleasant and efficient pipeline.

Got hired as a full-stack intern, traveled to Bangalore for a month, and now I'm here — working on some super cool stuff, learning a lot, and just vibing with an amazing team. Bangalore is always nice; the weather and the food are great. Now that the month is almost over, I'll be heading back to Mumbai to continue college while working on the internship remotely.

I hope to keep building cool stuff on the platform and contribute to the ecosystem I used extensively during my hackathon journey. And yes, the merch didn't hurt either 😉
